The 1290 Super Adventure R is KTM’s gift to those who have an insatiable desire for torque, wheelies and adrenaline paired with long distance comfort! Since the inception of the 1290 LC8 engine these bikes have always made great power, but there was always a bit left to be desired. With the second generation, we found the same issues with limitations keeping the bike from reaching its full potential. We’ve been able to improve the calibration in many places that offer a significantly more enjoyable riding experience whether you’re commuting or riding cross-country you will see a massive difference in performance and rideability.
Features:
Adjusted fueling at idle to rectify the cold start issues and stalling.
Both IAP (10% throttle openings & below) & TPS (Primary fuel maps) corrected for modifications
Vehicle speed limiter removed
Cylinder specific fueling improvements for improved rideability and reliability.
Lower engine temps by correcting fueling (fix lean AFR conditions)
Engine braking reduced to remedy the abrupt fuel cut on deceleration.
Exhaust valve servo disabled
Charcoal canister disabled
Like most other models, thanks to stricter emissions standards, the closed loop sections run a 14.7 AFR- which is about as lean as you can safely go. This leads to hard starting, stalling (especially if you switched to an open style muffler with no catalytic converter), excessive engine heat and poor throttle transitions, jerky QS/AB feel to name a few.
With our ECU flash you will experience vastly improved rideability, smoother and more impressive throttle response, more power and significantly lower engine temps.
